TEAM BMW CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF BMW M.

The year 2022 is a momentous one for BMW Motorsport as 50 years of M is celebrated across the world. Nowhere is this more evident than in the BTCC, where Team BMW’s pair of 330e M Sport race cars switch back to a livery based on the classic M Sport colours that have adorned championship-winning BMW racers for decades.

BACK IN ICONIC COLOURS

While Team BMW drivers Colin Turkington and Stephen Jelley will drive white BMW 3 Series bearing the iconic M colours - Bavarian blue, dark blue and red, four-time champion Turkington’s car will be of extra significance as it wears the #50 through the season to mark the anniversary.

The new livery made its track debut at the 2022 BTCC Season Launch Day held at Thruxton on April 13, which included the final official pre-season testing day. Both cars will carry the striking livery throughout the 30 rounds of the season, until the final race weekend at Brands Hatch on October 8-9.

Both Team BMW cars will carry special front and rear 50th BMW M anniversary badges. The emblems, which carry a border surrounding the instantly-recognisable BMW roundel, are being offered to customers of any new BMW M car purchased in 2022.
