Once again, the BMW PGA Championship lived up to all expectations in 2024 with Billy Horschel beating Rory McIlroy in spectacular style after going to playoffs.
“On behalf of BMW, I would like to congratulate Billy Horschel on winning the 20th BMW PGA Championship, overcoming a world-class field on a challenging golf course,” said David George, CEO at BMW Group UK and Ireland.
Now in its 20th year, the BMW partnership with the DP World Tour gave visitors a truly memorable experience with all the latest All-Electric models on display, as well as M models, including the new BMW i5 Touring and new BMW M5 touring, and plenty more.
Attendance of over 114,000 people visited across the week, and BMW was ready to make it an unforgettable experience. Over 800 Loyalty Customers were hosted throughout the week, while BMW owners were given exclusive access to the Owners Terrace and Skytop Lounge where they could enjoy a complimentary beverage with views over the BMW Championship village. Entertainment varied from a huge range of BMWs to explore – models included the BMW 1 Series, and BMW i7 – to live concerts with performances from Groove Armada and Sigala.
Guests were also given the chance to win weekend loans of select luxury models, while some very lucky visitors were invited to watch all the action on the 18th hole from the comfort of the i7, also known as the ‘best seats in the house’.
The BMW PGA Championship provides a great platform for supporting charities and their important causes. In 2024, BMW helped raise £104,145 for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) charity. What’s more, BMW also donated £1,000 to the new Eagles for Education programme, part of the Golf Foundation, for every eagle made. This equated to £89,000.
“Another very important aspect of the event goes beyond the sport and the experience on site – its deeply rooted connection to charity. This year, the BMW PGA Championship supports Campaign Against Living Miserably, and the BMW Group ‘Eagles for Education’ campaign benefits the Golf Foundation,” said David George, CEO at BMW Group UK and Ireland.
