BMW UK WINS AT FLEET NEWS AWARDS.

BMW has enjoyed a successful night at the 2019 Fleet News Awards, picking up both the Manufacturer of the Year Award and the Best Executive Car Award.

Winning the coveted ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ was a welcome return for BMW (UK), not having held the title since 2016. This comes after an impressive year, with year-on-year sales outperforming most of the competition, while also resisting adverse automotive trends that saw the market (sales) drop almost 6 per cent.

What’s more, BMW’s swift response to WLTP, which saw it re-homologate the model range and publish revised emission figures months ahead of deadline, ensured that they were in a strong position.

Stephen Briers, Editor-in-Chief, Fleet News said: “An ever-expanding model range has given BMW Group a car to compete in almost every segment. It continues to offer improved performance and reduced emissions across its ranges, with no adverse effect on driveability. Attractive BIK and running costs keep the brand at the top of fleet choice lists.”

Adding to the night’s good vibes was the prestigious Best Executive Car Award. Won by the BMW 5 Series for the second year in a row, key factors to success were engagement, refinement, and general driveability, which judges felt made it a favourite amongst drivers. Adding to its appeal was also the competitive running costs and low CO2 emissions.

In other news, BMW has also picked up the ‘Best Fleet Manufacturer’ in the 2019 ExpertEye Awards. Voted by contract hire and leasing companies, ExpertEye is a leader in fleet and automotive research and benchmarking.
