BMW REVEALS NEW MODELS IN LA.
17 December 2018
BMW premiered their two new luxury models – The X7 and the BMW 8 Series Convertible – plus their latest Vision Vehicle, the BMW Vision iNEXT, at the Los Angeles International Motor Show 2018.
The debut of the new X7, which is BMW’s first luxury Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), was a popular choice for the LA crowds. Boasting a 7-seat configuration, with an optional 6-seat configuration with two captain style seats in the second row, it takes comfort to new heights. Add to this the new iD7 operating system and TwinPower Turbo 6 cylinder inline engine with 340hp and 450Nm of torque, and you have a perfect combination of luxury and power. More information about the new X7 can be found here.
Another popular destination was the BMW stand, which focused heavily on the future of mobility. The huge possibilities of autonomous driving was a major theme for duration of the motor show, with the BMW Vision iNEXT being positioned as the company’s new technological flagship.
And it didn’t disappoint. One of the standout features of the new BMW Vision iNEXT, which has no combustion engine in need of cooling, was the new look kidney grille. It has been completely reimagined with a covered surface that serves as an “intelligence panel” housing various sensors. Learn more about the BMW Vision iNEXT here.
Another car making its global debut was the BMW M340i xDrive Saloon. Highlights of the new sports saloon is its newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine. It delivers maximum output of 275 kW/374 hp and peak torque of 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). Find out more about the BMW M340i xDrive Saloon here.
Other models making an appearance in LA were the BMW X5, the BMW 8 Series Coupé and the BMW Z4.
