Team BMW has enjoyed success at the fourth annual Auto Trader New Car Awards, with the BMW 3 Series being awarded 2020’s ‘Most Loved Car.’ Voted purely by consumer car owners, awards came from a total of 181,000 votes, making it a true reflection of people who actually own the car and not just industry experts and critics.  

Erin Baker, Editorial Director of Auto Trader, commented: "So many owners this year said “I love my 3 Series” that it was the runaway winner of Auto Trader’s Most Loved Car Award", with its brilliant driving dynamics and sporty styling."

Consumers were asked to rate their cars across 16 different criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. They were also asked about their overall satisfaction with their car and how likely they would be to recommend it to others.

Reflecting on the 'Most Loved Car' Award, Baker said: “This is a very emotive category, where car owners highlighted their love affair with the car in all its forms. The power, handling, performance and looks are all key. We had such a range of feedback for the 3 Series, but overwhelmingly the most common comment was the smile it put on its owners face when they were sat behind the wheel. Praise doesn’t get much better than that!”
